Construction Biogas Plant, Operating Centre and Road infrastructure.

This £1.5 million project was the first of its kind in the UK and was a groundbreaking project for the production of electricity using waste and recycled materials.

Specialist trade skills and technical services provided by consultants based in Germany where these technologies are more commonly used.

The works included the following:

  • Excavating and constructing underground concrete storage tanks
  • The installation of a large steel framed building complete with precast concrete section walls
  • Formation of concrete bases for gas storage silos
  • Forming all new service roadways complete with passing points
  • Excavations for all new electric and water services
  • Forming bunded ditches and new drainage runs.

 

In recognition of the high quality of work on this project, Modplan was awarded the prestigious Regional Master Builder of the Year 2006 - Energy Efficiency and Waste Minimisation.
